The driver of a Range Rover who caused a fatal collision in Umm Al Quwain on Sunday was drunk at the time, police said. The man in his 50s, with a Comoros Islands passport, crashed head-on with another car at around 1.30am on Sunday when driving the wrong way up the Mohamed bin Zayed motorway. He and two other man in the second car were killed instantly. "Test results of samples taken from the deceased driver confirmed that he drove his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol," said police. Bottles of alcohol were also found in his car. Authorities urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules to avoid such tragic accidents.
