Children aged 14 and under can now travel as third passengers on Dubai's taxis. In addition, four passengers will also be able to travel together in seven-seat taxis. Previously, the number of passengers was limited as part of measures designed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. “If you commute in taxis, you can now accompany your child (up to 14 years old) as a third passenger in the vehicle without using the seat next to the driver,” Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority wrote on Twitter. “The number of authorised passengers in the three-row family vehicle (van) remains four, as a maximum, until further notice.” When seated in the taxi, passengers are required to wear face masks at all times. Masks must be worn in all public places and can only be removed when seated for dining, swimming, when at the beach, or when undertaking strenuous exercise.
