Two people died and four others were injured in multiple accidents across Dubai last week, police revealed on Thursday. In the first major accident – which happened on Monday at 9.10pm – a motorcyclist died after changing lanes without indicating and colliding with a heavy pick-up truck on a road in Al Khubaisi. Police investigations revealed that the motorcyclist had not used his brakes when changing lanes. On Tuesday, at 9.45am, one person died and three others were injured after the driver of a minibus swerved and trashed into a flatbed lorry parked on a street in Al Muhaisnah in Industrial Area 2. Police did not disclose what caused the driver to swerve off the road. In another incident, on Wednesday, the driver of a heavy pick-up truck was severely injured after getting into an accident with a four-wheel drive car as he was attempting to overtake the car. The lorry flipped and landed top down after bouncing off the four-wheel drive and crashing into the iron road barriers on Sheikh Zayed Road at 3.15pm. The truck driver suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital. The final accident took place on Thursday at 8.40am when a child wandered on to a road in Al Muhaisnah and was hit by a Honda Accord. The child was seriously injured, police said, and quickly hospitalised.
