Motorists experienced significant delays as accidents hampered the Wednesday rush hour commute. Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street in Abu Dhabi experienced heavy delays as a car broke down and stopped in the middle of the road at about 6:50am. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road meanwhile experienced heavy traffic from the Al Shahama area. An accident was reported on Mena Street after the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, causing three lanes to be blocked. In Dubai, an accident was reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road E311 causing major delays. Commuters also faced long tailbacks in the Al Nahda, Al Muhaisnah and Al Qusais areas. Moderate traffic was reported in Al Mizhar.
