The UAE Embassy in the Philippines has confirmed that no Emiratis were affected by an earthquake in Manila on Saturday. The embassy tweeted it had been in contact with all Emirati visitors and citizens in the Philippines and there had been no reports of anyone being harmed by the earthquake, which had a registered magnitude of 6.9. A tweet on the embassy’s Twitter page read: “The Embassy of the State of Manila affirms the safety of all citizens and visitors in the Philippines and that they are all fine. “Through the operations room, we have not received any communication or report of an incident to citizens because of the earthquake and the subsequent aftershocks.” The earthquake struck off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Saturday.
