The Friday’s sermon is dedicated this week to highlighting the sacrifices made by Emirati soldiers in Yemen who are involved in Operation Restore Hope as part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition.
“We pray to Allah to have mercy on the honourable martyrs of our nation and gather them with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favour of the prophets,” imams will tell worshipers.
Breaches will ask Allah Almighty to bestow mercy and forgiveness on the honourable martyrs of the nation and place them in paradise, along with prophets and the righteous people.
The sermon will have special prayers asking God to grant the best reward for the families of the martyrs and offer them patience and solace, to grant victory to the soldiers of the Arab Coalition who gather to restore the rights to the Yemeni people.
“O Lord, please be by their side and guide the Yemeni people to everything that is good. O Allah, make them rally for the word of truth and legitimacy, and bless them with welfare and stability, O the Most Generous. O Lord, we beseech you to bless all of the Muslim countries and the whole world with stability and peace,” the sermon will tell worshippers.
"We pray to Allah, the lord of the worlds, to continue blessing the UAE with stability and welfare and bless its provisions. O Allah, please continue blessing the UAE with safety and security."
It will also highlight the true image of Islam as a religion that calls for interfaith tolerance and for stability and peace to prevail over the entire world.
The sermon will tell worshippers about the importance of “tashahhud,” the testimony of faith for sitting in prayer as it has a great status in Islam and its virtues are numerous.
For this reason, the prophet ensured to teach it to his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, just as the prophet taught them the verses of the holy Quran.
On this account, it was said that Abdullah Ibn Masood, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Allah’s Messenger taught me the tashahhud as he taught me a sura from the Quran, holding my hand between his hands."

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
