DUBAI // From the first of January next year, 188 medicines will be reduced in price.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Health, the state news agency Wam reported.
The majority of medicines that will be made cheaper - 77 per cent - are for issues affecting the central nervous system.
This will mark the sixth time a variety of medicine has been reduced in price.
With regards to the last price cut, no pharmacies had breached the ruling, said Dr Amin Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary for public health policy and licensing and vice chairman of the medical licensing committee.
The first phase of price cuts saw 565 drugs made cheaper.
