UAE residents awoke to thick fog blanketing the country on Tuesday as forecasters issued an orange "be prepared" warning due to poor visibility. The National Centre of Meteorology said visibility could reduce to less than 1km in some areas. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to avoid using hazard lights unless in case of an accident or emergency. Mist was reported over Al Maktoum International airport, Al Ain airport, Zayed City, Sweihan, Abu Dhabi Road towards Al Ain and Dubai. The Northern emirates will be less affected by fog on Tuesday but the centre said high humidity - up to 95 er cent - overnight could lead to further mist on Wednesday morning. Once the fog clears, a partly cloudy and otherwise pleasant day on Tuesday can be expected. Temperatures will be chilly, ranging from 8°C to 26°C inland, 11°C and 25°C along the coast and 6°C to 16°C in the mountains. Winds may reach up to 32kph at times but conditions will otherwise be predominantly still. Seas will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and calmer still in the Sea of Oman.
