Hot and cloudy weather conditions will continue into the week with temperatures reaching 48°C in some areas.
Hazy weather is expected in several localities accompanied by light winds.
Moderate sea conditions are expected in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Today, coastal areas will see highs of 45°C and lows of 27°C, internal areas will experience temperatures of between 26°C and 48°C and mountainous regions will remain between 23°C and 37°C.
Relative humidity, which may rise during the night, is likely to vary between 15 to 85 per cent in coastal areas, 10 to 70 per cent in internal places and 5 to 50 per cent in the mountains.
The highest temperature recorded in the country yesterday was 47.4°C in Mezaira at 3.15pm, and the lowest temperature this morning was 25°C at Jais mountain at 4.45am.
Hot and cloudy conditions are likely to persist tomorrow and the day after, though winds blowing dust may affect visibility.
