Parts of the country woke to an overcast and slightly gloomy start to the day on Sunday which is expected to lift later in the day.
After a dry weekend with the humidity measured at 15 per cent or less, it rose to 40 to 50 per cent by early morning on Sunday in Dubai and stood at about 70 per cent in Abu Dhabi.
That means in the capital, the mercury was 34C at 7am but felt more like 41C, according to global forecaster AccuWeather.
The country's National Centre of Meteorology predicts it will be hot and hazy this week, as is common for this time of year, with humid mornings and evenings.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the low forties throughout the week.
