Weather warning issued with thick fog set to linger

DUBAI // Heavy fog will continue to cover interior and coastal areas with visibility reduced to less than 100 metres in some places.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology issued a warning of continuing fog formation across some western areas with decreased visibility.

Partly cloudy weather was forecast for the next two days accompanied by light to moderate winds after the fog clears in the morning, according to the centre.

Mist and fog formation in the evening is likely because of a spike in humidity later in the day in coastal and inland areas.

Conditions at sea will turn very rough on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Temperatures will range from 15°C to 30°C along the coast, 14°C to 25°C in the mountains and 14°C to 32°C in the interior regions.

The maximum humidity will be 85 to 99 per cent across coastal regions, between 80 to 99 per cent in interior areas and 45 to 80 per cent in the mountains.

The country’s lowest temperature of 8.3°C was recorded in the Hamim desert area on Monday morning.
