HYDERABAD, India // At least 32 people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and four were injured after a train caught fire in southern India today, police said. Authorities rushed the injured people to a hospital. A local police official, VC Sajjanar, said the blaze appeared to have been caused by a short circuit in the train's wiring. The train caught fire early this morning while it was roughly 200 kilometres north of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Passengers pulled the emergency chain to stop the train when the fire broke out and jumped out of the car, Mr Sajjanar said. Train services in the area were disrupted or cancelled. *AP
