An army of brightly attired steampunk enthusiasts descended on a UK village to walk its streets clad in an array of costumes combining Victorian and futuristic stylings.
Locals in the Yorkshire village of Haworth, more used to the flat-cap-and-tweed fashion sense displayed in British TV comedy Last Of The Summer Wine, watched as the weekend event, which included a masquerade ball and burlesque evening, unfolded.
Steampunk is a movement tracing its origins to the 19th-century sci-fi writings of the likes of Jules Verne and HG Wells, where characters maintained the style and mannerisms of Victorian people, yet combined these with futuristic technology that would have been alien to those around at that time.
The event in Haworth, which was famously home to the Bronte sisters, attracted fans of the genre from all over the UK.
