Saudi Arabia appointed Abdulhadi Al Mansouri as head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in a royal decree late Tuesday. The appointment came as part of the kingdom’s weekly Cabinet meeting. "Abdulhadi bin Ahmed bin Abdul Wahab Al Mansouri is appointed as Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation under the rank of Minister," the Saudi Press Agency said. In January, Saudi royal decree ordered the sacking of the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulhakim bin Muhammad Al Tamimi. No details were given for Mr Al Tamimi's dismissal less than two years after he was appointed to the role in June 2017. Orders have been given to the "pertinent authorities" to prepare for Mr Al Mansouri to assume the role of head of the Authority.
