The UAE, Yemeni government and Pakistan have condemned the Iran-backed Houthi rebels' attempts to target civilian areas in Saudi Arabia with drones and ballistic missiles, which were intercepted by Arab Coalition forces. On Monday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia against terrorist attacks on civilians and threats to its security and stability. The security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are “indivisible”, the ministry said. "The continuation of such attacks and threats demonstrates the danger the Houthi coup poses to the region and further demonstrates this militia's intention to undermine regional security and stability. The Saudi-led coalition on Monday said it had intercepted and destroyed four missiles and six explosive drones launched from Yemen towards Saudi Arabia overnight by the Houthi rebels. Cross-border attacks by the Houthis have increased since late May, when a truce prompted by the coronavirus pandemic ended. Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al Eryani on Tuesday also strongly condemned the attacks. The terrorist attacks confirmed the Houthi militia's continued escalation under the orders of Iran, Mr Al Eryani told the Yemeni News Agency. He said the Iranian regime and its proxy in Yemen defied peace efforts by the UN and brotherly countries. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry praised the interception of the missiles and drones, preventing the loss of innocent lives.' The ministry said Pakistan repeats its full support and solidarity with the kingdom against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.
