Egypt's Interior Ministry said police killed nine suspected members of a militant group with links to the Muslim Brotherhood in two separate Cairo shoot-outs. It said the militants were members of the Revolution Brigade, a breakaway faction of the Muslim Brotherhood group that has attacked security forces. The shoot-out took place at hideouts in the north-eastern district of Obour and the southern May 15th City as police were trying to arrest the militants, the ministry said on Wednesday. Rifles and ammunition were found at the scene. Egypt is fighting an insurgency led by a local affiliate of ISIS as well as smaller militant groups allegedly belonging to the Brotherhood.
