Saudi Arabia’s air forces intercepted and destroyed several Houthi drones on Tuesday launched from Yemen, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Colonel Turki Al Malki said the Arab Coalition, which is fighting in support of the internationally recognised government of Yemen, destroyed the unmanned aerial vehicles in the air before they could reach their targets.
The drones were launched towards the southwest province of Asser, which is near the Yemen border.
The province has come under several attacks by the rebels in recent weeks as tensions between Iran, which backs the Houthis in Yemen, and the west have heightened.
“The failed attempts by the rebels to target Saudi civilian and infrastructure reflects their terrorist tendencies and is a clear violation of international law,” coalition spokesperson Col Al Malki said in a statement.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE are leading the Arab Coalition that intervened in Yemen in 2015 to try to restore the internationally recognised government, which was pushed out of the capital Sanaa by the Houthis in late 2014.

Investors:
A 10-year residency visa can be obtained by investors who invest Dh10 million, out of which 60 per cent should not be in real estate. It can be a public investment through a deposit or in a business. Those who invest Dh5 million or more in property are eligible for a five-year residency visa. The invested amount should be completely owned by the investors, not loaned, and retained for at least three years.
Entrepreneurs:
A five-year multiple entry visa is available to entrepreneurs with a previous project worth Dh0.5m or those with the approval of an accredited business incubator in the UAE.
