The legendary house club and rave classics that sprung from the Haçienda will be given new life when the nightclub's original DJ partnership perform with a full symphony orchestra at Dubai Opera. DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering are teaming up with the Manchester Camerata to perform smash-hits such as Pacific State, Voodoo Ray, Ride on Time and You've Got The Love, but with a classical makeover on November 22. Dubai Opera will be transformed into a fully flat-floor venue to ensure ample room for dancing. Jasper Hope, Chief Executive at Dubai Opera, said: “For anyone who loves the incredible club anthems of the 1980s, this is going to be the party night of the year, as the music of two legendary Hacienda Club DJs combine with a full-live symphony orchestra in the magical surroundings of Dubai Opera.” Manchester's Haçienda nightclub shot to fame during the 1980s and early 1990s, and its name is synonymous with the rise of acid house and rave music. It closed in 1997, but the music that sprung from it remains some of the world's most well-known and loved house club and rave classics. Tickets start from Dh250 and will be available from 10am on April 5, 2018 at www.dubaiopera.com with a special early-bird discount of 20 per cent on all seating and standing categories available until 19 April 2018. ___________________ Read more: Digital versus analogue: why vinyl is starting to make a comeback What the cassette tape revival means for the UAE Inside the last DVD rental and cassette shops of Abu Dhabi Mixtape revivalism: classic Middle Eastern music finds a new audience online ___________________
