'Sale no mubarak': Britney Spears' Iranian boyfriend Sam Asghari tries to teach her Farsi phrase for Nowruz

Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam Asghari has shared a video of himself trying to teach the American singer how to say Happy New Year in Farsi as he celebrates Nowruz. Iranian personal trainer Asghari shared the video on his Instagram. He repeats the phrase "sale no mubarak", with the Oops! ...I Did It Again singer repeating it back to him, without perfecting the pronunciation each time. In the end, he says, "Alright, just say 'Happy Persian New Year'", which she does without a problem. The video has a number of Instagram filters and stickers on top, including one which reads: "Happy Nowruz". Iranians around the world are celebrating Nowruz on Saturday. Asghari, 27, has been dating Spears , 39, since 2016, when they met on the set of her Slumber Party music video. He was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to America at the age of 12 with his father, in 2006. On moving to the US and settling in Los Angeles, California, Asghari told Men's Health magazine in 2018: "I had to leave my friends and family who I was very close with, and I knew I was moving away and never coming back." Since the February release of the Framing Britney Spears documentary, Asghari has been vocal with his support for his partner . "I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," he told People magazine. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together." He also followed up that statement with an Instagram story in which he shared his opinion on the conservator battle. “Now it's important for people to understand that I have no respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” he wrote. "I won't be going into details because I've always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn't come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom."
