When people think of Sesame Street character Big Bird, there's usually two things that come to mind – tall and yellow.
However, as revealed in a recent tweet, Big Bird comes in many different shades.
In a post that has since gone viral, Twitter user Neil Scully pointed out that, around the world, various international adaptations of the show feature different coloured Big Birds with different names.

To clear up the confusion, Big Bird (who is verified on the platform) took to Twitter days later to properly introduce his different coloured “cousins” from around the world:
I heard my friends on Twitter were asking about my cousins around the world! It’s true, I have a lot of bird cousins in different countries. Here’s a little bit about them:

In a very wholesome Twitter thread, he shared the names and photos of his similarly tall counterparts.
Here's his cousin Abelardo from Mexico:

Big Bird is one of the most popular characters from Sesame Street. He's one of only two Muppets to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California. In 2000, he was named a Living Legend by the United States Library of Congress.
The character of Big Bird was performed by Caroll Spinney from 1969 until 2018, when he retired and the role was handed over to Matt Vogel.
