The new Mr India film is a sequel, not a remake
The filmmaker Boney Kapoor clarified he is working on a sequel instead of a remake of the 1987 hit Mr India. In the original movie directed by Shekhar Kapur, Amrish Puri played the villain Mogambo, a performance that was the highlight of the sci-fi comedy. "We don't have plans of remaking the film. We are working on a sequel," said Kapoor. "In this sequel Mogambo won't be there – there'll be a new villain." He quashed rumours that Salman Khan will be roped in to play the sequel's bad guy. "If I had my way, I would plan every film with Salman Khan," he said. "But this is not in my hands – it will be according to the script." – IANS
