Sloshing through a tub of ice, balancing on a four-inch wooden beam, swinging on monkey bars and jumping over three-metre high walls. If you think you have what it takes to complete these obstacles (and 11 more), then sign up for the first Sand Pit 10-kilometre endurance run on April 17 at Al Barari in Dubai.
Participants – it is open to individuals as well as teams – will set off in waves throughout the day and aim to complete a series of challenges (no time limit).
Some of the obstacles sound like something out of a horror film: Sub Zero, Into the Pit, Stride of Pride, Barby, The Ape Dome, Rings of Terror, Wally, The Qarter Pipe, Plumber’s Smile, The Mountain, Arachnophobia, A Friend in Need, Alcatraz, Log Days and Hanging by a Thread.
Registration costs are from Dh260 and spectators can watch the event for Dh10. For more information, visit www.thesandpitrun.com
