Hub71 is to launch a series of webinars from Monday to showcase Abu Dhabi’s technology ecosystem, the emirate's sustainable growth and to highlight business opportunities across the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Abu Dhabi-based technology accelerator will organise the series, called Abu Dhabi Decoded, in association with Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (Added), Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Ghadan 21.

“The virtual sessions will contribute to increasing participation among start-ups that stand to benefit from the emirate's thriving technology infrastructure and capabilities,” said Mohammed Al Shorafa, chairman of Added and of Hub71’s board of directors.

This series will be made up of four online sessions. Each session will feature a theme – public-private partnerships and corporate engagement, Abu Dhabi’s business environment, accessing funding and building a collaborative community.

It will bring together a diverse range of insights and perspectives from top Abu Dhabi government officials, senior corporate executives, successful tech founders and venture capitalists.

“Abu Dhabi is going through a major digital transformation that will shape the future of our economy … and as the capital’s global tech ecosystem, we have made it a priority to display the value we can bring to ambitious start-ups and investors,” Hanan Harhara Al Yafei, chief executive of Hub71, said.

How the bonus system works

The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.

The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.

There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).

All riders who have worked with Deliveroo for at least one year and completed 2,000 orders will receive £200 (Dh1,000), the company said when it announced the scheme.
