Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) has signed an agreement with California-based technology firm Hewlett Packard Enterprise to accelerate the execution of data management programmes in the emirates.
Under this pact, HPE will bring some of its leading data scientists to help Abu Dhabi's digital transformation and facilitate efforts to design, create and implement architecture for a “visionary data federation platform”, a press statement on Tuesday said.
“We will strengthen our partnership with HPE in advanced analytics and data federation domains to further enable our vision of Data Value Realisation for Abu Dhabi,” said Dr Rauda Saeed Al Saadi, director general of ADDA.
ADDA is working to establish a new data platform that will help it to improve services provided to residents.
“This new data partnership is exciting and highly strategic… it will bring enhanced public services to Abu Dhabi,” said John Schultz, executive vice president at HPE.
The new partnership follows an existing agreement signed by the pair in March this year.
ADDA also unveiled a new data management programme on Sunday, which falls within the open data initiative launched under Abu Dhabi’s accelerator programme, Ghadan 21.

Libya's Gold
UN Panel of Experts found regime secretly sold a fifth of the country's gold reserves.
The panel’s 2017 report followed a trail to West Africa where large sums of cash and gold were hidden by Abdullah Al Senussi, Qaddafi’s former intelligence chief, in 2011.
Cases filled with cash that was said to amount to $560m in 100 dollar notes, that was kept by a group of Libyans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
A second stash was said to have been held in Accra, Ghana, inside boxes at the local offices of an international human rights organisation based in France.
