Apple is expected to roll out its much awaited item tracker AirTag and first augmented reality device along with a slew of other products this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who closely follows the Cupertino-based company, said in a research note to clients.
Mr Kuo, an analyst at Hong Kong’s TF International Securities, also hinted that new AirPods will be launched in 2021.
News about the development of AirTag, a small circular disc that can help users track their luggage, wallets or keys, first emerged in 2019 but Apple has not officially revealed much information about the device.
AirTag can be attached to personal belongings and users receive regular notifications about the whereabouts of their items.
Apple is also reportedly working on an augmented and virtual reality headset – Apple Glasses – but the company is yet to make an official announcement.
The company – which had experienced supply chain disruptions due to the coronavirus – kickstarted its new launches last year after it brought the iPhone 12 series to the market.
Despite its late launch, the iPhone 12 became the world's best-selling 5G smartphone within two weeks of its global launch, surpassing Samsung and Huawei, which launched rival models in 2019.
The iPhone 12 captured 16 per cent of the 5G smartphone market in October, according to Singapore-based Counterpoint Research.
Last month, Japanese newspaper Nikkei reported that Apple plans to produce up to 96 million iPhones in the first half of 2021, a 30 per cent year-on-year increase compared with the same period last year.
The full-year forecast that Apple shared with its suppliers suggests it plans to build up to 230 million iPhones in 2021, including both old and new models, it added.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
Why it pays to compare
A comparison of sending Dh20,000 from the UAE using two different routes at the same time - the first direct from a UAE bank to a bank in Germany, and the second from the same UAE bank via an online platform to Germany - found key differences in cost and speed. The transfers were both initiated on January 30.
Route 1: bank transfer
The UAE bank charged Dh152.25 for the Dh20,000 transfer. On top of that, their exchange rate margin added a difference of around Dh415, compared with the mid-market rate.
Total cost: Dh567.25 - around 2.9 per cent of the total amount
Total received: €4,670.30
Route 2: online platform
The UAE bank’s charge for sending Dh20,000 to a UK dirham-denominated account was Dh2.10. The exchange rate margin cost was Dh60, plus a Dh12 fee.

The UAE bank transfer was far quicker – around two to three working days, while the online platform took around four to five days, but was considerably cheaper. In the online platform transfer, the funds were also exposed to currency risk during the period it took for them to arrive.
