Eagle to film world record flight from Burj Khalifa

A white-tailed eagle, with a small camera attached to it, is to fly off from the top of the Burj Khalifa on Saturday in an attempt to set a world record for the highest recorded bird flight from a man-made structure. The public will also be privy to the eagle’s view of the city, with the camera footage broadcast worldwide. The record attempt is being carried out by Freedom, an international multimedia conservation project which collaborates with the conservation initiative SOS – Save our Species, and Unesco.

This will not be the first time Freedom and a selection of their eagles have undertaken such a feat.

The eagles, trained by world-renowned falconer Jaques-Oliver Travers, have flown, complete with cameras, from the Eiffel Tower and St Paul’s Cathedral, in London.
