The <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/tags/uae/" target="_blank">UAE</a> reported 224 new <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/coronavirus/2022/04/06/covid-19-linked-to-increased-risk-of-serious-blood-clots-for-up-to-six-months/">Covid-19</a> cases on Sunday, bringing its overall tally of infections to 893,862. Another 591 people beat the <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/mena/2022/04/06/israeli-covid-study-finds-fourth-pfizer-vaccine-dose-shields-elderly/">virus</a>, taking the tally of recoveries to 874,040. The death toll stands at 2,302, with no additions recorded since March 7. The latest figures were revealed after a further 233,862 PCR tests. About 150 million tests have been conducted in the country to date. Mass testing and one of the world's fastest vaccination drives have helped the UAE curb the pandemic. Authorities have reported that 100 per cent of the eligible population have received one Covid-19 vaccine dose, while 97.35 per cent have been fully vaccinated. But officials cautioned the public against complacency in the fight against the pandemic. <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/ramadan/2022/04/07/ramadan-2022-dont-let-guard-down-against-covid-top-uae-health-official-says/">Dr Farida Al Hosani</a>, the spokeswoman for the UAE's healthcare sector, urged people to continue to wear a mask in in-door settings, sanitise hands and avoid crowded places. “Covid is still out there, and maintaining safety measures is still very important,” Dr Al Hosani said.
