Barre, kids yoga and fine-dining: everything you can still book at Gather by JW festival this weekend

The three-day Gather by JW festival taking place at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is already underway. Having concluded its Venice iteration in September, the festival is now making its debut in Dubai this weekend, running until Saturday October, 26. The event brings together a star-studded line up chefs and culinary experiences coupled with various health and mindfulness experiences. It is designed as a way to explore the connection between food and well-being. The festival has already started but there are still plenty of events to get involved in. Get a quick dose of fitness for your weekend at this free Barre class taking place at 4pm on Friday. Hosted by the women from Physique 57, the one-hour class is entirely complimentary and will take place at the hotel's Aqua outdoor pool deck. Acclaimed international chef and TV presenter Bobby Chinn will be presenting the flavours of South East Asia at a dinner at Tong Thai on Friday night. Seating starts from 6pm and diners will have an a la carte menu to choose from. Price varies. Foodies can also try a signature menu by the executive chef at Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra in consultation with an ayurvedic specialist on Friday evening. The menu is designed to be as mindful as it is flavourful and you can book a table between 6pm and 11.30pm, price varies. Start your Saturday with a one-hour free kid’s yoga session at the Aqua outdoor pool deck. There’s only 20 spots available for this session which will see children guided through some basic yoga moves. Asanas start at 9am. A free family picnic is on offer from 10am to 11.30am. The event takes places at the Aqua outdoor pool deck and is open to everyone, but registration is required as there is only space for 20 families. Join Sally Bee - author, television personality and motivational speaker for a discussion panel about positivity and mindfulness. She’ll be joined by international chef Bobby Chin and self-taught Italian baker Melissa Forti and they'll be discussing how to be the best you can be. The talk starts at 4pm in Aqua restaurant.
