One of the silliest, most misguided yet enduring "health" trends around is the egg-white omelette. Dr Nasim Ashraf, chief executive and consultant physician at the DNA Centre for Integrative Medicine & Wellness, at The Collection at the St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, advocates the Mediterrean diet - and says you can eat an egg every day.

"The yolk is the most overlooked part, and its the most nutritious part of the egg," he said.

The yolk is a great source of protein, vitamins, healthy fats and minerals.
