There’s no question that Latin American food is popular right across the emirates and Waka is the one of the newest eateries to get in on the action. The restaurant, which is located at The Oberoi Dubai Hotel, offers guests a taste of Latin culture. Derived from the word ‘huaca’ which means ‘blessed’, Waka boasts a vibrant, inviting interior along with an impressive menu. Launched by the team behind the successful eatery, Craft Café in d3, Waka’s vision is to offer a relaxed and immersive space for patrons to unwind and enjoy their dining experience. The cuisine is a fusion of Latin American flavours combined with Japanese seasonings, using French techniques. Executive Chef Roberto Segura is behind the Waka menu, which is full of aromatic spices and delectable flavours. Inspired by his upbringing in Latin America with influences from the East, Chef Roberto has prepared a menu that includes hot rock ceviche. The restaurant seats up to 90 people with an additional eight people catered for at the Chef’s Bar. It caters for those wanting to partake in a tailor-made and interactive menu which includes a live cooking display from Chef Roberto himself. Waka is located on the lobby level of The Oberoi and is open from Saturday to Wednesday from 6pm to 12am and Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 1am.
