Catch … 15 courses

Most people like to get value for money when they brunch, so we think this 15-course artisanal offering is quite the "catch" (pardon the pun). Prepared "a la minute", the Friday brunch experience at Catch Abu Dhabi combines full table service with twists on restaurant favourites. Expect to be served everything from sea bass ceviche to Wagyu tacos, fresh sushi and salmon, jumbo prawns and corn-fed baby chicken. From 12.30pm to 4pm every Friday, with prices starting from Dh219 and a seaside location ideal for a lazy afternoon. For more on this elaborate offering jump onto www.catch.ae

Walk toward Al Seef for opening

We got all excited when we heard there was a new Nolu's eatery opening at The Walk at Al Seef mall in Abu Dhabi. Then, when we heard there was a three-day opening festival at the retail park, featuring a European winter market with pop-up stalls, music, demo fitness classes and family activities, we thought this is the place to be if you're looking for something new this weekend. Nolu's is part of the new food emporium, so you can get a bite to eat while you're checking out the new space that is tucked away behind Al Seef Mall. Cafe adds strength to park offering

Coffee aficionados will likely know about this little gem already, but for those that don’t there is a new cafe worth checking out near the entrance to Umm Al Emarat Park. Snooze Coffee Co is set up in a shipping container, much like those you see at Dubai’s Box Park, and features a cool “Instagram-worthy” giant coffee cup installation outside, and quirky industrial-type furniture inside. The menu includes specialty coffees like Chemex (Dh30) and Picollo, and some interesting cold varieties, including the Dh20 Spanish latte (we’re told this is the best-seller) and Nutella iced latte (Dh25).
