The UAE's weather bureau was on Friday tracking a tropical storm in the Arabian Sea which is set to intensify at the weekend.
Winds brought by the storm are forecast to hit speeds of up to 120kph, the National Centre of Meteorology said. As it stands, the storm is not predicted to strike the UAE, the NCM added.
Temperatures in the UAE are expected to peak at 42°C in the south on Saturday and 40°C in Sweihan on Sunday.
The NCM warned of fog forming on Saturday and Sunday, with dusty conditions also forecast in parts. Humidity is expected to be high, reaching 90 per cent in the evenings.
In April last year, the UAE was hit by its largest single day of rainfall since official records began. The heavy downpour caused widespread flooding, travel disruption, and damage to homes and property.
The NCM said the volume of rain that fell on April 16 was the highest since records began in 1949.

Labour dispute
The insured employee may still file an ILOE claim even if a labour dispute is ongoing post termination, but the insurer may suspend or reject payment, until the courts resolve the dispute, especially if the reason for termination is contested.
