Al Shabab have placed their confidence on Paulo Bonamigo for the next two years by extending his contract until 2014.

The Brazilian, who has previously coached Portuguese side Maritimo, has taken Shabab to the Etisalat Cup final for the second successive season and they are in a tie third spot in the Pro League with two games left. They are on 37 points with Al Nasr, who are ahead on goal difference.

He also took Shabab to a third-place finish in the league and qualification to the Asian Champions League last season.

It is the second time his contract has been extended after he took charge on a one-year period from compatriot Toninho Cerezo in 2009. The announcement of Bonamigo's extension comes ahead of Friday's meeting with Al Ain, the champions.

They face Nasr in the last league game on May 27 in what could be a decider for who claims the runners-up spot in the league.
