The UAE reported 1,573 new coronavirus cases on Monday. This brings the total number of infections recorded since the pandemic began to 641,049. Five people died, bringing the death toll to 1,839. Officials said another 1,527 patients beat the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 619,294. It came after 239,366 tests were carried out. The authorities have used widespread testing, strict safety rules and one of the world's fastest vaccination programmes to curb the pandemic. Almost <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2021/07/04/coronavirus-637-fully-vaccinated-in-the-uae/">two thirds of the UAE population are now fully vaccinated</a> against Covid-19. Officials said at least 63.7 per cent of the population have received both doses of a coronavirus vaccine. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi announced that vaccinated travellers flying into the emirate from countries not on its green list will now <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/coronavirus/2021/07/05/abu-dhabi-updates-home-quarantine-rules-for-arriving-passengers/" target="_blank">quarantine for seven days instead of five</a>. Unvaccinated passengers from countries not on the green list will have to quarantine for 12 days, instead of 10. Arrivals from green list countries do not need to quarantine.
