Dense fog descended on Abu Dhabi for a third consecutive day, as police reduced speed limits on busy roads.
Only a small area of the coast was affected by the murky weather, which is expected to lift by 10.30am.
Visibility was also poor in Dubai due to fogy conditions in the early hours of Friday but skies cleared shortly after 7am.
Drivers were warned not to exceed 80kph on a motorway in the area as visibility was reduced to 1,000m.
The fog will lift to leave a fair to partly cloudy day, which will be dusty at times.
There will also be a fall in temperatures, which will be significant over the coast and in the west.
Temperatures are expected to reach 25°C in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Winds will be moderate to fresh, reaching top speeds of 40 km/h in some areas.
The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.
The weekend will be sunny, with temperatures of up to the mid-20s. It could also be foggy on both Saturday and Sunday morning.
It could also be dusty at times on Saturday.
