Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening to offer his condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa.
The President, Sheikh Mohamed, welcomed the prince on his arrival at the Presidential Airport in the capital.
Prince Mohammed conveyed the condolences of King Salman and his sorrow at the loss of Sheikh Khalifa. Prince Mohammed was accompanied by a large delegation of princes and officials from Saudi Arabia.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman met senior Emirati ministers and officials, including Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
Prince Mohammed is the most senior Saudi royal to visit since the Sheikh Khalifa’s death on Friday.
Saudi Press Agency confirmed his trip on Twitter as he left the kingdom’s capital, Riyadh.
