Ajman police cars replace sirens with night lights

AJMAN // Nine police cars have been equipped with an advanced night lighting system, which will be used to replace sirens.

The patrol vehicles have also been converted to run on natural gas, reported Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National.

At night, the lights can be seen from a distance, meaning they can be used instead of sirens in residential areas so as not to disturb people as they sleep.

Brigadier Sheikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, Chief of Ajman Police, said 50 vehicles will eventually be equipped with the new lights.
