DUBAI // A sailor assaulted his 7-year-old niece and gave her a sexually transmitted disease, a court heard today.
The 31-year-old EH, an Emirati, is charged with repeatedly assaulting the girl.
Records show that in May, EH forced the girl into his room, took off her clothes and assaulted her. He threatened to beat her if she told her parents, records show.
The girl's mother testified that one week before she reported the incident to police on June 2, she noticed infections on her daughter's genitals and took her to Al Mamzar clinic.
The mother, FQ, 29, Emirati, said medicines did not help the infection. A second examination showed that the girl had contracted gonorrhea, court records show.
The mother testified that her daughter was too scared to tell her parents who had molested her. Eventually, however, she said it was her uncle, who lived with them in their Al Muhaisenah 2 house.
"He would carry me on his back, take me to his room, then throw me face-down on his bed and do things to me before he let me out through the window," she said in records.
A first lieutenant testified that when he went to the house, EH confessed. Records say he also confessed during prosecution investigations.
The next hearing will be on October 9 to summon EH, who was not in court today.
