SHARJAH // The death sentence hanging over 17 Indian men convicted of killing a Pakistani man earlier this year has been overturned by an appellate court.
The Sharjah Court of Appeals made the ruling after hearing some two hours of testimony from police and after the victim's family agreed to accept monetary compensation. The court will reconvene on February 17 to announce the amount.
