Diesel ‘thieves’ were only recyling, hears Abu Dhabi court

ABU DHABI // Three men accused of stealing diesel told the Criminal Court yesterday they were merely recycling it.

FN, from India, and HK and SD, from Pakistan, denied stealing two barrels of diesel from their employer the Critical National Infrastructure Authority.

They said the diesel contained impurities and could not be used by their employer and neither were they allowed to dispose of it in the sea. So they removed the impurities and sold the diesel for Dh300.

A verdict is expected on October 10.
