Authorities advised commuters to drive cautiously, take precautions and follow traffic regulations as fog developed over many areas resulting in low visibility on the roads on Sunday morning. Many parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi were covered in fog early on Sunday, the National Centre of Meteorology said. Dubai Police urged the public to be careful as some areas in the city experienced low visibility. Fog cover affected main roads such as Emirates Road, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Street, and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street before Al Maktoum Airport heading towards Abu Dhabi, as well as Sheikh Zayed Road before Jebel Ali Port heading towards Abu Dhabi, Al Yalayis Street and Expo Street. Abu Dhabi Police reduced speeds to 80 kilometres per hour on several roads including Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road, Maktoum Bin Rashid Road, and Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road. Temperatures hovered around 27°C in Dubai, 28°C in Abu Dhabi and 23°C in Sharjah. Weather conditions are expected to be fair in general and partly cloudy at times in the UAE on Sunday, the NCM said. The humidity of the night will last into Sunday morning when there will be a chance of fog over some coastal and internal areas, especially to the west. Temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will reach the high thirties with humidity between 75 and 80 per cent. Light to moderate winds will sporadically freshen causing dust to swirl. Conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
