Rain could fall in some areas of the UAE on Wednesday as the country’s spell of unsettled weather continues.

Parts of the country in the east could receive showers in the afternoon and light rain could fall in the west at night, forecasters at the National Centre of Meteorology said.

Rain fell in Dubai, Fujairah and Al Ain on Tuesday, while a dust storm swept through Abu Dhabi.

Forecasters issued a warning about the dusty weather, which affected a vast area of the emirate, reducing visibility to less than 1,000 metres in Liwa, Al Dhafra region.

Parts of Sharjah were hit by heavy rain and hail on Sunday and more showers fell on Monday in Sharjah and Fujairah in a soggy start to the week.

Winds will be light to moderate on Wednesday, picking up at times, and temperatures will reach highs of 41°C in the south.

It will be slightly cooler on the coast, reaching 39°C in the capital and 38°C in Dubai.

Temperatures will creep up slightly on Thursday, reaching 40°C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

There is a chance of more rain throughout the week, the NCM said.

This is due to a weather system sweeping in from the Red Sea and southern Iran, which will be accompanied by humid winds, NCM said.

On Thursday and Friday it will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain, especially in the west and south, extending over some areas on the coast and islands.

Light to moderate winds will freshen at times, blowing dust and sand.

On Saturday it will be dusty at times and partly cloudy, with a chance of rain over scattered areas. Temperatures will reach 39°C in Abu Dhabi and 36°C in Dubai.

Sunday will be fair to partly cloudy and dusty and times, with highs of 36°C in Abu Dhabi and 33°C in Dubai.

Farage on Muslim Brotherhood

Nigel Farage told Reform's annual conference that the party will proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood if he becomes Prime Minister.
"We will stop dangerous organisations with links to terrorism operating in our country," he said. "Quite why we've been so gutless about this – both Labour and Conservative – I don't know.
“All across the Middle East, countries have banned and proscribed the Muslim Brotherhood as a dangerous organisation. We will do the very same.”
It is 10 years since a ground-breaking report into the Muslim Brotherhood by Sir John Jenkins.
Among the former diplomat's findings was an assessment that “the use of extreme violence in the pursuit of the perfect Islamic society” has “never been institutionally disowned” by the movement.
The prime minister at the time, David Cameron, who commissioned the report, said membership or association with the Muslim Brotherhood was a "possible indicator of extremism" but it would not be banned.
