UAE weather: Foggy start across Dubai and Abu Dhabi with speed limits reduced

It will be a foggy start to Saturday, but this should give way to sunshine by late morning.

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will reach the mid-20s, and even in the hottest spots in the UAE, temperatures are unlikely to get much beyond 30°C.

In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the forecast is for a 26°C maximum.

Along the coast and islands, the maximum is likely to be 30°C with 95 per cent humidity, while in the mountains temperatures of 21°C with 65 per cent humidity are forecast.

The interior is expected to reach 30°C with up to 95 per cent humidity.

The National Centre of Meteorology called on motorists to follow traffic regulations as the fog creates hazardous traffic conditions.

It warned that visibility will be poor on most inland and coastal areas until 11.30am.

Poor visibility across the capital and Dubai prompted the authorities to reduce the speed limit to 80kph on a number of roads.

During late morning, skies will become fair to partly cloudy, with light to moderate winds.

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Humidity on Saturday night into Sunday is likely to bring a return of fog and mist over some coastal and inland areas.
