A Bangladeshi man and woman lured a teenage girl to Dubai where they locked her up and forced her into prostitution, the emirate’s criminal court was told. Police were tipped off about the pair last December and told that they had the Bangladeshi girl, 15, tied up in a flat in Al Mutaina, where they would beat her and force her into having sex with men for money. An undercover officer arranged to meet the male accused, 30, outside the building where he was arrested but his woman accomplice, 33, was nowhere to be found. According to court records, the girl was found in the flat talking to herself, staring at the ceiling, laughing unprovoked and sinking to the floor to pray.<br/> They found her passport, which had been altered to make her appear older, and the plane ticket she used to travel to the UAE from her home country a month prior. Another Bangladeshi woman, 34 and an Indonesian woman, 27, were also found and arrested in the flat.<br/> "One of the two women told us that, one day, she found the girl tied up inside her room having urinated on herself but when she tried to help her, the male accused threatened her," a policeman said.<br/> The female accomplice was arrested few days later in a flat in Hor Al Anz. During questioning, she said she only arranged for the girl to travel to the UAE but was not involved in her imprisonment or forced prostitution.<br/> "I arranged for her to come and live with the male accused and told her about working in prostitution but she refused and then I left the place," said the female accused.<br/> She said the teen told her she had been raped by the male accused, during later phone calls.<br/> A medical report from Rashid Hospital revealed that the girl suffers from psychological issues and is prone to seizures.<br/> At Dubai Criminal Court on Monday, the pair were charged with human trafficking and the male accused was charged with sexually assaulting the girl. The two women arrested in the flat were charged with prostitution and with failing to report a human trafficking case to police. The four accused denied all charges against them in court. The next hearing is scheduled on March 25.
