Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed, chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, said the speed with which the UAE leadership had responded to control the coronavirus outbreak helped contain the spread of the disease. Sheikh Mansour made these remarks about the proactive approach of the UAE leaders when he chaired a remote meeting of Dubai’s Covid-19 Command and Control Centre on Friday. “The Command and Control Centre plays a major role in the nation's efforts to combat Covid-19,” he said. He also praised the UAE’s scientists saying their work had “put the nation among the ranks of countries shaping the world's future.” “Today we are reaping the fruits of the vision of our wise leadership, which has been instrumental in the success of our efforts to contain the spread of the virus and mitigate its repercussions." The operations team at the control centre briefed Sheikh Mansour on the latest measures to tackle the pandemic. A team of more than 1,800 doctors, administrators and volunteers are working to slow the spread of the virus. The meeting also detailed the centre’s cooperation with local, federal bodies and the World Health Organisation. Dubai’s Covid-19 Command and Control Centre was established by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, to connect the healthcare sector and improve connectivity between different departments within the Dubai government working to fight the coronavirus.
