Indian businessman Anoop Moopen receives 10-year UAE visa

Indian businessman Anoop Moopen is the latest high profile executive to be granted a 10-year residency visa under the UAE government’s gold card scheme.

The chairman and managing director of Aztec Group, and director of Aster DM Healthcare Group, was awarded the honour for his work in healthcare and real estate.

Mr Moopen is among more than 400 prominent business people to have applied for and been awarded gold card status.

He has been an influential part of the UAE’s construction landscape since 2002, and in 2009 he joined Aster DM Healthcare Group.

“This gesture strengthens the fact that Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and the Government of UAE believe in the work I do and in my vision to further contribute to the development of this beautiful country,” Mr Moopen said.

His wife and two children were also granted long-term visas.

Businessmen and women across the Emirates have welcomed the introduction of the gold card scheme, which was announced earlier this year.

The idea is to draw further investment and talent to the UAE, encouraging businesses and helping create new jobs.

Other individuals to have recently been given long-term visas include Kamal Vachani, group director of the Al Maya Group, a Dubai retail chain.
