WATCH: UAE begins three-month visa amnesty programme

At immigration centres around the country, foreign workers are being given the opportunity to apply for new visas under an amnesty.

The reprieve runs for three months from Wednesday August 1 to October 31. For others, it is a chance to leave the country and avoid the thousands of dirhams if fines they may face from overstaying.

But there are no guarantees and officials have warned applicants the amnesty is not a way to get out of debts or financial obligations.

The UAE government announced a retirement savings plan for private and free zone sector employees in 2023.

Lunate, an Abu Dhabi-based investment manager, has launched a fund that will allow UAE private companies to offer employees investment returns on end-of-service benefits.
