The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported 1,075 new cases of Covid-19 after the highest number of daily tests conducted in the country.
A further 1,424 recoveries were reported along with four deaths.
Total cases in the country now stand at 104,004, while 94,903 have recovered and 442 have died. Active cases stand at 8,659.
Authorities conducted an additional 120,665 tests in the past 24 hours, which exceeded the previous highest of 117,812 screenings which were carried out on October 3. It also exceeded the 115,258 tests reported on Thursday.
The UAE is ranked first in the number of Covid-19 tests carried out per capita, having conducted 10.67 million so far. It was confirmed on Tuesday that it had become the first country to conduct more Covid-19 tests than the total population.
Cases in the UAE have been above 1,000 for six of the past seven days, however recoveries have outstripped the number of daily cases for the past five days.
Authorities continue to carry out spot checks on businesses to ensure that preventative measures are being carried out.
Dubai Economy said on Friday it had shut down a shop on its opening day for overcrowding, as crowds formed looking to take advantage of price offers.
Another establishment was fined, while 10 more shops received warnings for not taking precautions seriously. During the inspections, 581 businesses were found to comply with regulations.
Meanwhile, Oman's supreme committee responsible for Covid-19 has ordered a two-week night curfew to curb a rise in infections. The nationwide curfew will run from 8pm to 5am and be in place from October 11 to October 24.
Global cases stand at 36.56 million according to Johns Hopkins University, with 1.06m deaths and 25.48m recoveries.
