The Khalifa Foundation has renewed an agreement with Emirates Transport to run canteens at 671 government schools as of next academic year, up from 139 schools.
Under the agreement, canteen operators will now have 2,512 Emirati employees, with 1,071 in government schools affiliated with Abu Dhabi Education Council, and 1,402 at government schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education in Dubai and northern emirates, an increase from previous years.
The rest will be charged with running canteens at institutes applied technology, colleges, universities and Emirates ID centres, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
