12 injured in Sharjah car accident

Seven Emiratis and 5 others were injured on Sunday evening in the accident on a bridge near Al Nazwa, police said.

SHARJAH // Twelve people were injured in a car accident in the central region of Sharjah.

Seven Emiratis and 5 others were injured on Sunday evening in the accident on a bridge near Al Nazwa, police said.

Officers at the command centre were alerted at 9pm and dispatched emergency crews and traffic patrols to the scene. The injured were transported to Al Qasimi and Al Dhaid hospitals suffering from minor to medium injuries.

The accident was a result of a Toyota Land cruiser entering the road without making sure it was clear of cars and crashing into a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Sharjah Police urged motorists to pay attention to the road at all times, abide by traffic laws and speed limits to avoid tragic accidents.
